Sweden wins men`s U19 World Cup again

Favourite Sweden wins again. After winning the title in 2001 and 2005 the Swedish team won the final against the Czech Republic in Kirchberg (Bern).

Nothing went wrong against the opponent from the Czech Republic who surprisingly beat Finland in the semifinals. 1300 spectators saw Sweden win 9:3. Sweden, number one in floorball, dominated this World Cup. They were untouchable. It`s no wonder that the top scorer comes from the Swedish team. With three goals and an assist in the final and ten goals and six assists overall Swedens number 12, Patrick Malmström, became top scorer. „I`m happy to become top scorer but the title makes me even happier“, the youngster said after the match.

Even though they lost the final, the Czech Republic is satisfied with the tournament too. „We didn`t imagine beeing in the final, so the silver medal is great!“, says Czech Republic captain Daniel Rob after the match. „Sweden played on a different level and weh ad no chance of beating them“.
